Scarlett Johansson Dishes On Recreating Shower Scene For ‘Hitchcock & The Making of Psycho’; Praises Anthony Hopkins

Scarlett Johansson is preparing for her next project – playing iconic actress Janet Leigh in Sacha Gervasi’s “Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho.”

With Scarlett and Anthony Hopkins (who plays legendary thriller director Hitchcock) leading the film, the movie has already generated a lot of buzz, but many fans of the original “Psycho” are wondering how the film will handle the infamous shower scene.

“We will not be re-shooting the entire shower sequence, no,” Scarlett told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson while promoting her latest movie, “The Avengers,” in Los Angeles on Friday.

While they may not be tackling the entire bloody scene, Scarlett says she thinks audiences will be blown away by Anthony Hopkins’ performance as Hitchcock.

“I’ve seen some makeup tests recently, and just watching [Anthony] play Hitchcock is pretty memorable in itself,” she said. “He’s gonna be bananas! I can’t wait for that — I’m very excited.”

The 27-year-old beauty said the cast will begin shooting the film “in a couple of weeks.”

As for “The Avengers,” Scarlett, who plays the lone female superhero in the comic book movie, had to keep her hair and makeup team close in order to bring some femininity to the male-dominated set.

“I surrounded myself with a lot of girls so that we sort of counterbalanced… we tried to like, hold down the fort a little bit,” she told Shaun, when asked if it was challenging to keep up with the film’s men. “You just have to bring it and hold your own.

“I have to say these guys like to play hard — really hard. So, you just have to apply for a liver transplant and pray,” she added, laughing.

“The Avengers” hits theaters on May 4; “Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho” is slated for a 2013 release.
