Seal On Designer Who Slammed Heidi Klum’s Weight: ‘Sounds To Me Like Someone Looking For Publicity’

Heidi Klum may have laughed off German designer Woolfgang Joop’s remarks she was too heavy and busty for the runway earlier this week, but her husband Seal had an entirely different reaction — none at all.

“First of all, who is he? Is he a plumber or? I’ve never heard of him,” Seal told Billy Bush for Access Hollywood and “The Billy Bush Show” on Friday. “I’ve never heard of him and to tell you the honest truth, I don’t know if Heidi’s ever heard of him before. It sounds to me like someone looking for a bit of publicity.”

Last week, Woolfgang made headlines across the fashion world and beyond when he claimed Heidi was “too heavy” to be a runway model these days. And he continued his attack against the “Project Runway” queen this week, telling Germany’s Bild that she “is not a top model, but an ad girl.”

Heidi shrugged off Woolfang’s first set of comments earlier this week, telling reporters on Monday, “Do I look like I care? I really don’t think about Joop or what he said. What am I supposed to say? It’s his opinion… In this business you have to be fit, but I always try to be a good role model and not too thin.”

On Friday, despite Woolfgang’s latest comments, Seal was not moved by the designer’s statement about Heidi.

“It would be difficult to address someone who I know nothing about,” Seal told Billy. “I’ve never heard of the guy Woolfgang [Joop] before. That’s not a name that really comes up in our day to day lives, so you know, it sounds like it’s an insignificant statement coming from an even more insignificant source and so, it’s not something I’ve given a lot of thought to.”
