Selena Gomez Says Her Sweet Tooth Is To Blame For Recent Health Scare

Selena Gomez has revealed her eating habits may be to blame for her recent health scare.

“I do eat — the problem is that I don’t eat right,” Selena explained during an interview on the “Kidd Kraddick in the Morning” show at a Texas radio station on Thursday. “I love everything that’s possibly not good for me.”

The 18-year-old star, who was taken to a Los Angeles hospital last week after falling ill, said she’s feeling “so much better” now, thanks to some good old fashioned motherly love.

“She’s been supermom right now,” Selena said of her mother’s care. “She’s definitely shoving vitamins down my throat and following me around.”

The former “Wizards of Waverly Place” actress – who admitted an affinity for “M&Ms, Kit Kat, Snickers and Goobers at the movies” – said her love of junk food runs so deep even her vegetables must be disguised to please her palate.

“I have to have creamed spinach or like, cheese on my broccoli,” she said. “I have to have something that makes it not healthy.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Selena recently explained what landed her in the hospital last week and forced her to pull out of a previously scheduled promotional appearance for her upcoming film, “Monte Carlo.”

“I was very malnourished,” the singer/actress told Access Hollywood on Monday during an appearance at the Santa Monica Place Center Plaza in Santa Monica, Calif., as she promoted her new film and performed with her band, The Scene.

“I was dehydrated and very low on iron,” she continued of her health scare. “So, I’ve just gotta take care of myself.”
