Serena Williams Pens Heartfelt Message To Her Unborn Child: ‘I Can’t Wait To Meet You’

Serena Williams is already embracing motherhood.

Just days after revealing that she and fiancé Alexis Ohanian are expecting, the tennis
legend took to Instagram to share a special message for their soon-to-be little
one.

“You gave me the strength I
didn’t know I had. You taught me the true meaning of serenity and peace. I
can’t wait to meet you,” she wrote on Monday, captioning an Instagram post
in which she addressed her unborn child as “My Dearest Baby.”

Serena also seemed to touch upon her maternity leave plans, following reports that she intends to stay off the court until 2018.

“I can’t wait for you to join the players box next year,” she added, before taking time to honor her return to the top spot on the Women’s Tennis Association rankings.  “But most importantly, I am so happy to share being number one in the world with you…. once again today.”

This will be the first child for both Serena and the Reddit co-founder. They announced their engagement on the social media platform back in December.

The couple has been enjoying a beachside vacation for the past few days, with Serena sharing multiple Instagram peeks at the getaway.

Last week, the 35-year-old posted (and soon deleted) a Snapchat photo showing off her baby bump in a one-piece swimsuit with the caption “20 weeks.”

On Monday, Alexis chimed in on the pregnancy news with an Instagram post of his own.

“A new Snoo is on the way!” he wrote, captioning a cartoon rendering of him and Serena as the Reddit mascot.

Sharing his anticipation for fatherhood, Alexis also included a touching note for their bundle of joy.

“I’m so excited to meet the little one. You keep amazing me,” he added.
