Shakira Not Returning To The Voice For Season 5

It’s official – Shakira won’t be returning to “The Voice” for Season 5.

Shakira confirmed the news to AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman on Tuesday night, following the Top 12 elimination show.

“Not for next season, for sure,” Shakira revealed, when asked if she would return for Season 5.

Instead, the global superstar said she will take the time off to work on her new album and spend time with her family, including her 4-month-old son Milan.

“I have to get back to my baby — give him some love and dedicate some time to him and also to my new album that I’m working on,” Shakira said.

Shakira, however, did not rule out a return to the NBC reality series down the road, adding, “You never know, maybe in the future.”

While Shakira is out, original “Voice” coach Christina Aguilera will return for the upcoming fifth season, with an impressive $12 million payday.

On Tuesday night’s elimination show, Shakira saw her team shrink by one member, as teen rocker Garrett Gardner was one of two contestants (along with Team Usher member Vedo) sent packing.

The remaining Top 10 will take the stage again next Monday.
