Shannen Doherty Reveals Her Cancer Is In Remission: ‘I’m Going To Just Breathe’

Shannen Doherty has shared her most hopeful breast cancer update yet.

On Friday, the actress revealed she’s now in remission following a two-year battle with the disease.

She announced the happy news on her Instagram page, posting a thoughtful-looking photo of herself curled up against a wall with her head resting face down on her arms.

Shannen was candid about the wave of emotions she’s experienced since receiving the “overwhelming” prognosis, admitting in her caption that she has “no idea how to react.”

While the 46-year-old acknowledged her relief and gratitude, she was also forthcoming about where her journey continues from here.

“The next five years is crucial,” she wrote, explaining that she knows “reoccurrences happen all the time” and there are multiple options to consider going forward.

From reconstructive surgeries to daily medication, the former “Beverly Hills, 90210” and “Charmed” star told fans that she plans to tackle her decisions “with a heart that is certainly lighter.”

At the moment, however, she’s taking time to let it all sink in.

“I am blessed, I know that,” she continued. “But for now…. remission. I’m going to just breathe.”

Shannen has kept her cancer fight well-documented on social media since being diagnosed in 2015, giving followers frequent updates on her progress and often using the inspirational hashtag “#cancerslayer” in her posts.

Back in February, she revealed in another personal Instagram message that she had completed chemotherapy.
