Shia LaBeouf Arrested For Public Intoxication, Has Posted Bail

Shia LaBeouf was arrested in Austin on suspicion of public intoxication on Friday night, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

The “Transformers” star was taken into custody at approximately 7:30 PM CST and transported to the Travis County Jail, a rep for the facility told Access.

Authorities said the actor is noted in the system as “released to a peer,” which they clarified as meaning he has posted bail.

Local law enforcement told The Hollywood Reporter that officers approached LaBeouf in the Texas capital’s downtown bar district.

Witnesses captured the event on social media, posting photos of the actor being handcuffed on the sidewalk.

It is unclear if the 29-year-old was in town for Austin City Limits, a popular music festival that kicked off its second weekend on Friday.

This isn’t LaBeouf’s first brush with the law. In June 2014, he was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, criminal trespass and harassment following an outburst at a Broadway performance of “Cabaret.”

Variety reports that in March, a judge ordered him to spend three months in treatment and demonstrate six months of good behavior in exchange for dropped charges.
