Simon Cowell Addresses X Factor Cut Off: It Was ‘A Total F Up’

FOX experienced a bit of programming trouble Wednesday night after baseball rain delays forced “The X Factor” to get a late start.

The reality singing competition was then cut off early (as the network began “The Mindy Project” on time), leaving fans wondering which contestants made it onto the final teams — and boss Simon Cowell none too pleased.

“Have no idea what is happening to the schedule tonight,” Simon Tweeted regarding the scheduling nightmare. “Have heard the whole episode will be shown next Tuesday. Sorry.”

Adding, “It what’s known as a total f up.”

The network will attempt to remedy the situation by airing the entire episode on Tuesday.

“Due to tonight’s rain delay of Game #3 of the National League Championship Series, the highly anticipated conclusion of the “Judges’ Homes” round of ‘The X Factor’ will air in its entirety on Tuesday, Oct. 23 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX,” the network said in a statement on Wednesday. “The competition kicks into high gear on Tuesday, when the judges reveal which four acts in each of the four categories – Teens, Young Adults, Groups and Over 25s – continue and which two acts are eliminated.”
