Simon Cowell On Brandy’s ‘Talent’ Exit & Sanjaya As Emmy Host?

Turns out the departure of Brandy from “America’s Got Talent” did have something to do with the car wreck she was involved in last year.

The accident this past December in Los Angeles killed a woman. Brandy faces two lawsuits and there’s the possibility she may be charged in the case.

That was cause for concern for the show’s executive producer Simon Cowell. He doesn’t come out and say that Brandy wasn’t asked back. But he says it’s best for everyone that Brandy not return for the show’s second
season.

Cowell says the talent show can be “incredibly funny at times,” and with all the controversy surrounding Brandy, he feels she would have been “incredibly uncomfortable” doing the show.

Cowell’s co-producer, Ken Warwick, says it also “would have played probably on the audience’s mind.”

The second season of “America’s Got Talent” premieres May 29th. Taking her place will be Sharon Osbourne when season two of the show premieres.

Since the same people who produce “American Idol” will be producing the Emmy Awards in September, there’s bound to be some crossover.

So, when asked if a host has been chosen for the Emmys, Simon Cowell smiles and quickly answers: “It’s Sanjaya.”

That’s a joke, we think.

“American Idol” producer Ken Warwick says he hasn’t started working on the Emmy show. He says he told the Emmy people he’d move on it once he was finished with “Idol Gives Back.”
