Simon Cowell Unveils His ‘X Factor’ Wardrobe Plans & Offers A Wedding Update

Simon Cowell confirmed on Monday that he will be a judge on “The X Factor,” but as of yet, no one is locked in to sit beside him when his new singing competition show launches on FOX in the fall.

A lot of people – including 95 percent of the AH Nation in our Access Hollywood poll – want to see him reunite on his new judges panel with his “American Idol” pal Paula Abdul — but could it happen?

“She’s in the mix,” Simon told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Tuesday’s Access Hollywood Live. “But a lot of people are in there.”

This week, Simon has been blitzing the media, beginning on Sunday with promos for his show, which aired during the Super Bowl, but none of those clips revealed what the Brit will be wearing when his show premieres. Luckily, Kit asked that question.

“Your wardrobe for this season – are we gonna see the tight V-neck? Are we gonna be branching out with some new looks for you?” she asked.

“Well, I’ve had so much positive feedback wearing a suit from the Super Bowl [spot]. Literally, thousands and thousands of letters saying how handsome I looked, so I might wear that again,” Simon laughed.

And no doubt Simon will be looking sharp off camera too – at his wedding. He is engaged to makeup artist Mezhgan Hussainy.

“The royal wedding is taking place, people are very excited. What about your wedding? Is it on schedule will you be getting married soon?” Billy asked.

“Well, I don’t want to overshadow Prince William, so they’ve gotta go first,” Simon said.

As for romance, Simon had a quip when asked about “Idol” host Ryan Seacrest landing girlfriend Julianne Hough.

“How did he land her?” Kit asked.

“Did you say Julianne or Derek?” Simon laughed.

They’re no longer co-workers, but Simon can’t help but take digs at the “Idol” host. He’s no longer co-workers with Paula either – but does he think she made a bad choice leaving “Idol”?

“No, I don’t think so,” Simon said. “I think she just decided enough was enough. She wanted to do something new and the truth is on a show like that, you can’t stay on it forever. It’s not good for you. I don’t think it’s right for the show. You gotta freshen things up.”

And “Idol” has certainly freshened things up with the new judges, Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez joining Randy Jackson.

“I talk to Randy all the time,” Simon said. “We’re really competitive with each other but we’re always gonna remain friends. We’re just gonna completely whip their a**es [with ‘The X Factor].”

“Have you watched the new ‘Idol’?” Kit asked.

“No, I saw three minutes. I could see the difference. Everybody was sweet, everybody was nice, everybody seemed to have sad stories. It was like a music version of ‘Extreme Home Makeover’ with a happy ending. We like happy endings,” Simon said.
