Singer Isaac Hanson Hospitalized With Pulmonary Embolism

DALLAS, Texas (October 4, 2007) — The eldest member of the rock group Hanson remained hospitalized Wednesday night after complaining of chest and shoulder pain following a performance the night before.

Isaac Hanson, 26, was taken to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas on Tuesday night after a show at the House of Blues. A nursing supervisor said Hanson (pictured in the middle with brothers Taylor and Zachary) was in stable condition Wednesday night.

A rep for the singer released the following statement to Access Hollywood:

“After last night’s performance in Dallas, Isaac was complaining of sever pain in his shoulders and chest. He underwent several tests throughout the night and has been diagnosed with pulmonary embolism… Isaac is currently undergoing treatment and will be re-evaluated shortly by doctors.”

Hanson’s brother, Taylor, told the television station that his brother was doing well.

“We appreciate thoughts and prayers that have been out there for him,” he said by phone from Tulsa, Okla., the band’s hometown. “We want the tour to go on, so you know we are working steadfastly to see how long he’s going to need to rest.”

The group is best known for its 1997 hit single, “MMMBop.”
