Skeet Ulrich Exits, Alfred Molina Turns Detective In Cast Shuffle On ‘Law & Order’ Spinoff

NBC says Skeet Ulrich is leaving “Law & Order: Los Angeles” in a shakeup that will give co-stars Alfred Molina and Terrence Howard more screen time.

Ulrich starred as L.A. police detective Rex Winters. Molina’s character, prosecutor Ricardo Morales, will return to the job he had before joining the district attorney’s office: that of police detective, NBC said Wednesday.

Howard, whose prosecutor had rotated weekly with Molina’s character, now will be seen in each episode.

Series executive producer Dick Wolf said the new approach avoids the frustration of having one of “two world class actors” on the bench each week.

“Law & Order: Los Angeles” airs 10 PM EST Tuesday starting Feb. 8.
