In a promo for “Saturday Night Live,” Dakota Johnson pleaded for her mom Melanie Griffith to see her film “Fifty Shades of Grey.”
“SNL” cast member Taran Killam appeared in a series of promos with the actress and asked if her mom had watched the movie yet.
“No, she didn’t. I’m really upset about it,” Dakota said.

“That’s so not fair,” he replied. “She’s like not supporting you.”
Dakota added, “I know, mom. Please watch it.”

In another promo, Taran asked Dakota to help him choose which of two gray ties to wear. The actress bit her lip, like her character Anastasia Steele does, before making her selection.
Taran also questioned the actress about her famous father Don Johnson and impersonated his “Miami Vice” character Detective James Crockett as the show’s theme song played in the background.
And, he pitched the star a few nickname options, before she agreed to Dakota “The Rock” Johnson, a knock-off of actor/wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
Dakota will host “Saturday Night Live” with musical guest Alabama Shakes on February 28.
