‘SNL’: Michael Keaton Reprises Batman, Beetlejuice Roles (Sort Of)

Michael Keaton hosted “Saturday Night Live” this weekend, and the show cut straight to his storied acting career in the opening monologue.

As the “Birdman” star took the stage to kick off the show, he was immediately interrupted by fanboys Taran Killam and Bobby Moynihan, who begged Michael to play Batman and Beetlejuice with them.

(Michael played Beetlejuice in 1988, and the Caped Crusader in 1989 and 1992.)

The actor declined, forcing Taran and Bobby to break into a song, begging Michael to play along.

“Will you play Batman with us Michael Keaton?” they sang. “Come on, put on the suit, we’ll be the villains that you’ve beaten.”

When their song failed to get the star on board with their plan, Taran and Bobby played a clip of themselves as villains (Taran as Joker, Bobby as Penguin), spliced with footage of Michael backstage at “SNL” with his Batman and Beetlejuice costumes CGI-d onto his body.

At the end of the bit, Michael acquiesced and gave his best Batman/Beetlejuice impressions.
