Soccer Star Hope Solo Takes On ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Rumors: ‘I Have No Musical Talent’

U.S. Women’s Soccer star Hope Solo’s powerful stems have caught the eye of “Dancing with the Stars” professional Maksim Chmerkovskiy – who has said he wants the goalie for his Season 13 partner — but Hope warns her skills on the field do not necessarily translate to the dance floor.

“I can kick in high heels, but I can’t dance in high heels,” Hope told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover during a visit to Access Hollywood Live on Thursday, when asked if she’d consider joining Maks for a stint on the reality dance competition. “If he wants to win the whole thing, he doesn’t want me for a partner!”

While athletes have had great success on the show over the years — Emmitt Smith (Season 3), Apolo Anton Ohno (Season 4), Kristi Yamaguichi (Season 6), Shawn Johnson (Season 8) and most recently Hines Ward (Season 12) all took home the mirrorball trophies — Hope said she’s a much better soccer player than a dancer.

“I’m an athlete – that doesn’t mean I know how to groove,” the 29-year-old – who said she hasn’t yet been officially approached by the show — added. “I have no musical talent. I can’t sing, I can’t play music and I can’t dance.”

As for her soccer career, the goalie said she’s still very “emotional” over last Sunday’s heartbreaking loss to Japan at the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

“I’m still getting over the loss,” Hope told Billy and Kit. “My entire life I intended to win the World Cup trophy, bring it home, get the gold. And I really thought we were going to do that. We made it to the final [but] it just wasn’t our destiny.”
