Sofia Vergara Talks Gearing Up For ‘Saturday Night Live’ Debut With One Direction

Sofia Vergara will hit the stage of “Saturday Night Live” this weekend, hosting the show for her very first time, but she knows she won’t be the only reason viewers are turning in.

“All the teenagers are going crazy,” she told Access Hollywood on Thursday, referring to British pop sensations One Direction, who are this weekend’s musical guest.

“I’m having a lot of fun. I mean, I can’t believe I was invited and to have the honor of joining this amazing cast,” she added.

Sofia will have a couple of friends in her court when she takes the stage, from her “Modern Family” cast.

“Jesse’s coming Saturday night,” she said of Jesse Tyler Ferguson. “I think Julie [Bowen’s] also coming from Florida. We’re such a close family, we really enjoy everybody’s achievements as if they were ours.”

Cheering from afar will be Sofia son, Manolo, who she revealed jumped with joy when he heard his mother would be hosting one of his favorite programs.

“He loves ‘SNL.’ The moment that he heard that I was gonna be in it, he called me, which — he’s 20 years old — so usually he doesn’t call me anymore and he called me and told me many things [about the show],” she said. “He even told me I was going to ride to the 17th floor in 30 Rock and Lorne [Michaels] was going to give me the welcome. Everything he said has happened this week.”
