Spice Girls Reunion Tour Gets Rave Reviews

The Spice Girls have just one reunion concert under their belts, but already they are getting rave reviews for their comeback.

The Edmonton Sun, which reported on Scary, Sporty, Baby, Posh and Ginger’s first date back this past Sunday in Vancouver, Canada noted, “there were plenty of bells and whistles to keep even the most jaded audience member dragged along to accompany a younger fan interested.”

The UK Telegraph also complimented the set, which the girls spent months rehearsing, noting that it, “took in eight costumes and elaborate choreography including a spot of pole dancing.”… [The show] had fans screaming from beginning to end and betrayed no signs of the intervening years.”

Mel B, who recently wound up with a runner-up finish on “Dancing With the Stars,” received major praise from the Vancouver Globe & Mail, which called her an, “absolute delight to watch on-stage. She seemed to be having the time of her life, showing off the moves that recently took her to the finals of ‘Dancing With the Stars,‘ and really engaging with the audience. Her shouts of ‘Viva Vancouver!’ were met with piercing approval from the largely female audience. Mel B. appeared to be loving every minute of it.”

London’s Evening Standard branded the ladies “Solid Gold Spice Girls” and suggested not a single person with a ticket for the reunion trek would be asking for a refund. “This is ebullient pop music of a very high standard, presented with panache, and highly unlikely to provoke any attendance at the refund window,” their reviewer wrote.

The Spice Girls play the second show of their tour tonight in San Jose, California.
