Staff Member Claims That Lindsay Lohan Assaulted Her; Cops Say Investigation Ongoing

Lindsay Lohan is being investigated following an allegation of battery against a staff member at a sober house, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

According to Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Melissa Nieburger, authorities were called to a private residence (related to the Betty Ford Center), where Lohan was staying, after a staff member at the location claimed Lohan assaulted her.

“An officer from the Palm Desert Police Department conducted a battery investigation,” Nieburger told Access of the alleged incident, which occurred around December 12, sometime before 1:03 AM, when the officer arrived on the scene to take a report.

After getting to the scene, the officer noted that the incident involved Lohan and a female staff member, who “desired prosecution,” Nieburger said in the statement to Access.

“The incident is being investigated as a misdemeanor not committed in the presence of a Peace Officer therefore no one was arrested at the scene,” her statement continued. “The investigation is ongoing. Upon completion of the investigation the reports will be forwarded to the Riverside County District Attorney to determine if charges will be filed in the case.”

KESQ reported that Lohan has not been arrested over the incident.

Lohan, who is currently on probation, was ordered to remain in rehab through January 3.

Calls to Dina Lohan, and the actress’ lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, by Access Hollywood were not immediately returned.
