‘Star Wars’: Did J.J. Abrams Confirm The Millennium Falcon Will Be In ‘Episode VII’?

Photos from the set of “Star Wars: Episode VII” have been leaking like a discounted droid bought from a Jawa, and director J.J. Abrams would like it to stop – but is he actually giving fans a clue about the upcoming movie?

After numerous shots of a ship that seemed to resemble Han Solo’s spaceship surfaced online, the director hit Twitter.

“I wish people would stop leaking photos from ‘Episode VII.’ And making ridiculous claims that the Millennium Falcon is in the movie. JJ,” the director wrote in a handwritten note that appears to be placed on the hologram chess board seen in “Episode IV” (remember when C-3PO yells, “Let the Wookie win,” to R2-D2 during a match with Chewbacca?).

It’s fair to assume that this new hologram chess board could be numerous places in the “Star Wars” universe and not aboard the Millennium Falcon , but we’re betting fans will see Han Solo’s famed ship in the next installment.

In other “Star Wars” news, Lucasfilm announced on Wednesday that Josh Trank is joining the Lucasfilm team to direct a standalone movie that will tell a new story beyond the core saga.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Josh into the family,” Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said in a statement. “He is such an incredible talent and has a great imagination and sense of innovation. That makes him perfectly suited to Star Wars, and for this new slate of movies that reach beyond the core characters and storylines of ‘Episodes I’ through ‘IX.’”

Trank, who is currently directing the “Fantastic Four” reboot, said, “The magic of the ‘Star Wars’ Universe defined my entire childhood. The opportunity to expand on that experience for future generations is the most incredible dream of all time.”
