‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ Begins Filming

Did you feel that disturbance in the force?

“Star Wars: Episode VII” has begun shooting and director J.J. Abrams’ production company, Bad Robot, shared the first look from the set.

“#dayone” the caption in the Tweeted photo of a film slate read.

Further details about where the shoot was taking place and which of the movie’s stars were involved are not known. The film slate does appear to be speckled with sand, leading some to believe that filming could be taking place in Abu Dhabi, which will reportedly serve as Luke Skywalker’s home planet of Tatooine.

Last month, photos surfaced from Abu Dhabi, which showed crews prepping sets for the highly anticipated movie.

New cast member John Boyea also Tweeted the same photo, adding, “Day one of episode 7! Here we go!”

John’s co-stars include Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher – who will reprise their roles from the franchise’s original trilogy – along newcomers with Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Andy Serkis and Max von Sydow.
