‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Cast Fights To Grant Terminally Ill Fan’s Dying Wish

The cast of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is
campaigning to let a terminally ill “Star Wars” fan see “The Force Awakens” before he dies.

Daniel Fleetwood, a 32-year-old from Texas who
is battling a connective tissue cancer called spindle cell sarcoma and was told
by his doctors he only had two months to live in July, is hoping to see the new
film before the December 18 release.

“I just love ‘Star
Wars.‘ With everything I’ve got, I love ‘Star Wars,'” he told local NBC affiliate KPRC, adding, “Judging by how progressive the disease has
gotten in the past two months, I really don’t think that I’ll be able to make
it.”

With the help of hashtag #ForceForDaniel,
the fan has grabbed the attention of “Star Wars” stars Mark
Hamill, John Boyega, Peter Mayhew and Daisy Ridley.

Franchise newcomer Daisy vowed to help in the fight to grant
Daniel’s wish.

“This one’s for you Daniel
Fleetwood!!! We will all do what we can to make your wish come true #forcefordaniel,”
she wrote.

No word on if Daniel will be able
to see the film early, but director J.J. Abrams previously helped fulfill a terminally
ill fan’s wish of seeing “Star Trek Into Darkness” before it was
released in 2013. Just days after Daniel Craft saw the film, he passed away.
