‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’: First Trailer & New Poster Announced!

The Force won’t only be with “Star Wars”
enthusiasts on Monday night – football fans are about to feel an “awakening”
too!

Disney and Lucasfilm announced on Sunday that ESPN will air
the first full-length trailer for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” at halftime
during Monday’s game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants. 

A new poster for the anticipated sequel was also unveiled,
featuring first-time characters Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega) and Poe
(Oscar Isaac), along with adorable mini-droid and early favorite BB-8.

Adam Driver’s cloaked villain Kylo Ren lurks in the background, alongside an ominous sphere that bears a suspicious resemblance to the infamous Death Star.

Other noteworthy updates include Princess Leia’s iconic hairstyle. Gone are her signature sidebuns, as Carrie Fisher instead sports a regal updo while positioned behind Harrison Ford’s galactic swashbuckler Han Solo.

Chewbacca, C-3PO and R2-D2 are also on hand, but noticeably
missing from the group shot is Mark Hamill as franchise hero Luke Skywalker.

The new trailer is just one gift fans will get to enjoy on
Monday — advance tickets for the film will be also available for purchase.  

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” hits theaters
nationwide on Dec. 18.
