‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Character Names Revealed In Series Of Trading Cards

Fans can finally start putting names to the new faces from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

In a series of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” trading cards, revealed exclusively by Entertainment Weekly, director J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy have unveiled eight trading cards from the upcoming film, several of which reveal the names of the characters fans got a glimpse of in the recently released teaser trailer.

The teaser opens with a shot of John Boyega’s Stormtrooper character – and now we know his name is Finn.

Move over R2-D2 and C-3PO, there’s a new droid in town. That tiny rolling ball of droid-ness shown in the teaser is BB-8.

Fans saw newcomer Daisy Ridley aboard a speeder, and now they know her name is Rey.

Oh, and that ominous figure stumbling through a dark forest with a cross-guard lightsaber? Say hello to Kylo Ren. Still no word on which actor is portraying the presumed villain.

Also getting the trading card treatment are a group of Stormtroopers preparing for battle, a flock of X-wing fighters in formation, and the Millennium Falcon.

Yet to be revealed, whether in the trailer or in the trading cards, are the characters played by Adam Driver, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, Max von Sydow and Andy Serkis (although we do hear his voice in the teaser).
