Stars Offer Their Talents To Obamas

President-elect Barack Obama has been busy readying his cabinet as he prepares for inauguration next Tuesday – but did he forget to appoint the “First Babysitter?” The Obamas can rest easy, Anne Hathaway has volunteered for the job.

“I would want to be head babysitter,” Anne told People. “I’d love to be First Babysitter, absolutely.”

Anne isn’t the only star offering their support to the Obama family. Obama’s daughters, Sasha, 7, and Malia, 10, could have the talents of “High School Musical” star Corbin Bleu if needed.

“I’ll just go up and do performances for his kids all day and just keep them entertained,” Corbin told the mag. “They seem like really sweet girls. They seem very well mannered. So I would be First Entertainer.”

And when Sasha and Malia want to do a little singing of their own, “American Idol” runner-up David Archuleta said he’d be there is called upon.

“I would give the girls music lessons,” David said. “Probably not piano lessons, because I’m far from the greatest pianist, but voice lessons.”

And it’s not just the Obama family that the stars want to work for, some are seeking jobs for the President himself.

In what would surely be a historic position, rapper Common has an idea of his post in the Obama administration.

”[I’d be] hip-hop ambassador,” the rapper said. “I could deal with social issues like not having parents. I’d work with that and pay attention specifically to the children.”

Kate Flannery from NBC’s “The Office” said she’d keep the President caffeinated.
“I would like to be the official barista making Barack Obama chai soy lattes,” Kate told the mag. “I love that he drinks that.”

And in what would be the mostly unlikely appointment in the history of the United States, singer Katy Perry said she would interested in Hillary Clinton’s post.

“If I’m the Secretary of State, does that mean I get to wear a secretary outfit?,” Katy Perry said. “[I’d] probably [want] that position just for the fashion!”
