Stars Turn Out For Penelope Party Hosted By Salma

Some of Hollywood’s biggest celebrities turned out Tuesday night at Salma Hayek’s LA area home to celebrate Penelope Cruz’s Oscar nomination for the Woody Allen-directed film “Vicky Cristina Barcelona.”

According to E! Online’s Marc Malkin, the guest list for Penelope’s celebration read like an awards show line up.

Penelope’s co-star, Scarlett Johansson, was on hand to toast the Spanish actress. Scarlett showed up sporting new dark red hair, which is not for a new role, but just a fun change, according to the actresses rep, who told E!, “She just said she wanted an autumn color.”

Colin Farrell was also showing off a new haircut. The actor debuted a newly shaved head, which is reportedly for his new project, “The Way Back,” about a group of soldiers in 1940’s Siberia.

The guest list also reportedly included Ryan Reynolds, Eva Mendes, Drew Barrymore, Charlize Theron, Stuart Townsend, Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher, Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Aaron Eckhart, Adrien Brody, Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith.

Also spotted were singer Josh Groban, Angela Bassett, Quincy Jones, and Penny Marshall along with directors Paul Haggis and Brett Ratner.

Salma served Spanish tapas and sangria to guests with a décor that resembled a photographer’s darkroom. Pictures of Penelope were attached to wires that hung from the ceiling.
