Stephen Amell On 50 Shades Of Grey Casting Rumors: Christian Grey ‘Will Not Be Me’

Do you hear that? It’s the sound of thousands of Stephen Amell fans’ hearts breaking in anguish.

After the “Arrow” star caused a spike in the collective pulse of “50 Shades of Grey” fans (by announcing he’d “had a meeting” about starring in the novel’s upcoming film adaptation), the six-packed star now says he’s out.

“Was on a flight yesterday evening back to LA with no movie, so I grabbed ‘50 Shades of Grey’ and burned through it,” the 32-year-old actor wrote in a post on his Facebook page this week.

Stephen, who hails from Canada, was apparently not at all impressed by the sizzling escapades of Ana Steele and her talented lover, as the actor said he will not be stepping into Christian Grey’s designer shoes for the film.

“Ummm… I hope they get the movie made, and I’m sure someone will be excellent in it. That person will not be me,” he wrote.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, in late March, Stephen made headlines after hinting he was in the running for the role of Christian in the upcoming film (to be adapted from E L James’ best-selling erotic novel).

“I get questions about Christian Grey all the time. That project is a long way off,” he said in a video posted on his Facebook page at the time. “I know this, because I had a meeting about it. Long way off. I mean, not that long, but not close.”
