Studio Unveils Next ‘G.I. Joe’ Character — Scarlett!

The next “G.I. Joe” character has been revealed for all to see!

Paramount released the first photo of franchise vixen Scarlett (Rachel Nichols) on Wednesday, showing off a sleek black outfit for “Joe’s” leading lady.

In March, the studio unveiled the first photo of fan favorite ninja Snake Eyes (Ray Park), posing in character with sword drawn.

“He’s the world’s greatest ninja, but he’s also next-generation. He’s not afraid to use a sword one second, and a split-second later he’s pulling out his Glock,” director Stephen Sommers told USA Today. “His chief nemesis is arguably the world’s other great ninja, Storm Shadow. The two grew up together, were blood brothers and now are mortal enemies.”

Also announced in the cast, but yet to be revealed in character, are Channing Tatum as Duke, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Cobra Commander, Sienna Miller as the Baroness, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Heavy Duty, Dennis Quaid as General Hawk and Marlon Wayans as Ripcord.

Among those rumored to also be joining the cast are Brendan Fraser as Gung Ho, Arnold Vosloo as Zartan, Christopher Eccleston as Destro and Karolina Kurkova as Cover Girl.

“G.I. Joe” is slated to hit theaters August 7, 2009.
