Sullivan Stapleton: Is Kurt Weller Suspicious Of Jane Doe On ‘Blindspot’?

FBI Agent Kurt Weller seems to have a soft spot for Jane Doe with all that she is going through on NBC’s “Blindspot.”

Despite some of the things Kurt (Sullivan Stapleton) has already seen Jane (Jaimie Alexander) do – like speaking in other languages, and being an incredible shot – he’s not, at this point anyway, wondering if there’s something up her tattooed sleeve.

“I think, at first, we are quite suspicious as to why the FBI [was] directly linked to this case, this target and as to what this connection is and why his name is tattooed on her back. And then, through obviously the investigation and all the tests they put her through, he realizes that she is telling the truth,” Sullivan told Access Hollywood during a recent conference call with reporters. “And so therefore, I think we do see that sort of — almost caring nature [from] of him and the fact that he does sympathize or empathize with the fact that she – she’s lost and [he] obviously understands that it would be quite hard to lose your identity and who you are or where you’re from.”

In Monday night’s new episode, Sullivan’s character Kurt, will attempt to give Jane a little training, until – as preview photos seem to reveal – she turns the tables on him.

Could that reignite his suspicions?

“I don’t know about suspicion, I just think that opens up the door to actually really trying to find out who she is or how she understands different aspects of the world we’re in,” Sullivan said. “She understands weapons and fighting. I think that just sort of… it becomes more intriguing to them as they find this stuff out.”

“Blindspot” airs Monday nights at 10/9c, after “The Voice,” on NBC.
