Supernatural: Jensen Ackles & Jared Padalecki On The Appearance Of The Wizard Of Oz’s Dorothy

“Supernatural’s” Winchester boys are about to meet one very unique young woman later this month on The CW series — Dorothy from “The Wizard of Oz.”

“We find out that Dorothy’s kind of been trapped in the Men of Letters bunker for a long, long, long time and accidentally she is set free, but so is the witch,” Jared Padalecki told a group of reporters, after Warner Bros. flew AccessHollywood.com up to the show’s Vancouver set where they made us their guest recently as the boys dished on Season 9.

“So we have them running around our bunker and we have to employ the help of kind of the coolest computer nerd we know to help us try and figure out what happened and how we can figure out more details on it,” Jared continued of the “Slumber Party” episode, referring to Charlie, a character played by the returning Felicia Day.

The appearance of Dorothy, the famous character from L. Frank Baum’s book (and the 1939 film) into the “Supernatural” storyline for this one-off episode airing on October 29, will produce a myriad of reactions, Jared and Jensen told reporters.

“Dean kind of tries to battle with the fact that there’s an actual Wizard of Oz and there’s an actual Dorothy and it’s all kind of being unfolded in front of him,” Jensen said. “Charlie takes more of the, ‘Well, hello,’ which is amazing because Felicia plays that great. So yeah, you get a lot of different reactions. Sam’s more the business… like, ‘OK. Didn’t expect that, but down to business. How do we fix this situation that we’re in?’”

“We also get to see into Sam’s psyche a little bit because he kind of opens up to Dorothy in ways that he wouldn’t have opened up to Dean or Charlie or Crowley or Kevin or Cas, so he gets to kind of tell her things [because] he knows she’s not gonna be around the next week or he assumes,” Jared chimed in. “He’s just like, ‘I’ll just go ahead and level with you,’ which is nice. We’re gonna see a nice part of Sam.”

The episode will also reveal a greater look at the Men of Letters bunker, including a new spot for Dean’s beloved car.

“There’s a giant garage, which is about time,” Jensen said. “I’ve been begging for that ever since we introduced the Men of Letters ‘cause it’s like, ‘Come on. Really? Just leaving the Impala parked out on the street, cover it up with some bushes and stuff?’ So, baby’s finally got some place to sleep.”

“Supernatural” continues Tuesday at 9/8c on The CW. The “Slumber Party” episode airs on October 29.
