Susan Sarandon: My Son Convinced Me To Star In SNL’s Motherlover

Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg’s hilarious “Saturday Night Live” Digital Short “Motherlover” almost didn’t happen for Susan Sarandon.

The actress, who is starring in “Arbitrage” and “Robot & Frank,” stopped by Access Hollywood Live in New York City on Friday (with her adorable dogs Penny Lane and Rigby Sue) where she revealed that her son made her sign on for the “SNL” digital short.

“I went to my son, who was 15 at the time and I said, ‘They want me do this sequel,’ and he said, ‘[Their song] ‘D*** In A Box’ is a classic, you have to do it!’” she told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover.

And the end product (take a look back at the 2009 short, HERE!) was a hit with her son.

“He thought it was great,” she said.

Susan explained that the shoot – which also featured Patricia Clarkson – contained a slew of other racy moments that didn’t make the cut.

“We filmed that like until two o’clock in the morning and you start to do very strange things,” Susan said with a laugh.

“Arbitrage,” which also stars Richard Gere, hits theaters on September 14 and “Robot & Frank” with Frank Langella, Liv Tyler and James Marsden is currently playing in limited release.
