Taylor Swift On ‘Valentine’s Day’ & Helping Haiti

Taylor Swift is making her movie debut in “Valentine’s Day” in February, and the star said she got to make her own mark on the character.

“A lot of the shooting was done off the cuff,” the country star told Access Hollywood at the EIF Cancer Research Gala in LA on Wednesday. “We didn’t really know what my character was going to be. We decided as the day went by that it was going to be this character that was really superficial, and thought she was awesome at dancing but really wasn’t. Hopefully it’s funny.”

On a more serious note, Taylor performed and took phone calls at the “Hope For Haiti Now” telethon last Friday, which raised millions – an experience she called “inspiring.”

“It was amazing to be at the Haiti telethon,” she said. “Manning the phones was really inspiring – people [were] really giving all that they could.”

And the young star had the opportunity to meet a number of Hollywood’s biggest actors during the experience.

“I met Julia Roberts! That was cool, she was really nice,” Taylor said. “[Drew Barrymore] and John Cusack were really a big part of putting the whole thing together and making sure everybody was in their right spot. Drew was really cool to me.”
