Taylor Swift Out Of ‘Les Miserables,’ Stage Actress Samantha Barks In

Taylor Swift’s name was thrown around earlier this month when it came to casting the role of Eponine in the big screen adaption of the musical “Les Miserables,” but according to multiple reports, the coveted part is going to stage actress Samantha Barks.

The film’s producer reportedly announced the news live on stage at the Manchester Palace following a performance of “Oliver!” on Tuesday, which Samantha is starring in.

The actress, who also reportedly beat out Hollywood stars like Lea Michele, Scarlett Johansson and Evan Rachel Wood for the role, took to Twitter following the big announcement.

“Most incredible moment of my life!!!!,” Samantha, who played Eponine on stage in 2010 and again for the show’s 25th anniversary London concert at the O2 Arena in 2011, said.

The actress joins Hugh Jackman (Jean Valjean), Russell Crowe (Javert), Eddie Redmayne (Marius), Aaron Tveit (Enjolras), Anne Hathaway (Fantine), Amanda Seyfried (Cosette) and Helena Bonham Carter (Madame Thenardier) in the big screen musical slated for release in December.
