Tessanne Chin Talks The Voice Win & Getting Advice From Celine Dion

Tessanne Chin was crowned the winner of Season 5 of “The Voice” on Tuesday and the Jamaica-born singer is still in shock.

“I cannot believe it,” a beaming Tessanne told AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman after her big win. “I’m going to bed with [my trophy] right beside me!”

The 28-year-old artist, who was coached by Adam Levine, had prepared herself for the possibility of losing, but was happily surprised.

“I made up my mind that I was gonna be at peace no matter what, but there’s always that little part of you that wants to [win],” she said. “I was in absolute shock.”

In addition to the joy of winning, Tessanne got to perform with one of her favorite singers of all time — Celine Dion.

“For me she is the top of the top… I think she’s just incredible, not just as a singer but as a person,” Tessanne said of Celine. “So to be able to have the chance to talk to her and to sing with her was out of this world.”

After the pair belted out Celine’s “Love Can Move Mountains,” the superstar shared a word of advice with the new “Voice” champ.

“She said to wait five years to have kids, and I think I’m gonna take her up on that,” Tessanne said with a laugh.

And Tessanne’s coach, Adam Levine, said he believes the right person won.

“She is a wonderful human being and I couldn’t be more proud of this girl,” he said. “She is incredible!”
