The Bachelor Q&A: Sean Lowe & Catherine Giudici Talk Live TV Wedding Plans

Well, “The Bachelor” finally did it. After 17 seasons and 10 proposals, one of the “Bachelors” is finally marrying the girl he handed the final rose to.

Of course, you will recall that Jason Mesnick proposed and then later dumped Melissa Rycroft for his second choice Molly Malaney. They later married in a lavish, but rainy TV ceremony in 2010. Eight of those other proposals ended in the couples eventually breaking up. So, technically Sean Lowe will become the first “Bachelor” to marry the girl he chose.

Sean will exchange vows with Catherine Giudici in a live ceremony performed by his own dad on ABC on January 26, 2014.

We caught up with the lovebirds at their engagement photo shoot to find out what they wanted to say to all the haters who said their love would never last and to the tabloids, who swore they were broken up and Sean was cheating on her.

Accesshollywood.com: So it was just announced that you guys are getting married on television. What was behind the decision to actually do this on TV?

Sean Lowe: It just felt natural. Our relationship started on TV. All of America got to go along that journey with us so we thought it would be fitting to have the marriage on TV.

Catherine Guidici: I think it’s also fun just to have everything that we have really done together milestone-wise documented. I think it’s cool to look back and show our kids, ‘This is our first look at each other. This is our first kiss. This is when we got married.’ I think it’s just a really cool scrapbook into our relationship together.

Access: There were a lot of haters along the way especially when you (Sean) were on ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ How hard was it for you to deal with the tabloid gossip about your relationship?

Sean: The tabloids didn’t really bother us. If anything it just made us laugh because we would always look at the silly headlines while we checked out at the grocery store. I think that only lasted a few months and now people are finally realizing, ‘Oh, hey, they are actually in love and this guy is a nice guy and he’s not cheating on her.’

Access: As a woman, was the tabloid gossip more hurtful to you?

Catherine: I got to see him every day so it was not like anything really fazed us. Like he said, we were always together when we saw the magazines. So, we would laugh and giggle and say, ‘How could that be happening if we are holding each others hands while see it?’”

Access: You are currently living in Dallas in separate apartments. Was that a choice to no cohabitate before the wedding?

Sean: Yeah. We definitely wanted to take the more traditional route. That’s something to really look forward to once our big day gets here. We are going to start our lives together and we are going to move in together.

Access: Is Sean as messy as the joke his mom played on Emily Maynard during her season?

Catherine: Oh No! It’s the opposite. I’m the messy one! I know that once we live together I’m the one that is going to have to tidy up after myself.
