Rachel Frederickson’s dramatic weight loss on NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” – going from a starting weight of 260 pounds to an eye-popping finishing weight of 105 pounds – sparked a debate as to whether she lost too much weight and now her trainer, Dolvett Quince, is speaking out.
“Last night’s ‘Biggest Loser’ Finale has sparked a huge reaction and I do not want the day to end without addressing it. Biggest Loser is a journey which has its ups and downs. Please try not to look at one slice of Rachel’s journey and come to broad conclusions,” Dolvett wrote on Facebook.
Adding, “Rachel’s health is and always has been my main concern and her journey to good health has not yet ended!!”
Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper, who appeared shocked by the sight of Rachel’s new body during the finale, also spoke out.
“Bob and I want to take a moment to congratulate all of the ‘BL’ contestants on their hard work,” Jillian wrote, speaking on behalf of herself and Bob. “We’re not comfortable commenting on Rachel’s journey because [we] weren’t her trainers and weren’t given an opportunity to work with her at any point. Any questions about the contestants on the ‘Biggest Loser’ should be directed to the show’s producers.”
On Wednesday’s Access Hollywood Live, Kit Hoover asked Rachel if she was planning to “maintain” her current weight of 105 pounds and not lose more. “Yes, absolutely,” she said. “And find this balance… and continue to find a balance.”

Adding, “My journey was about finding that confident girl and little by little, challenge by challenge that athlete came out and it sparked inside that feeling that I can do anything… I can succeed. I found that girl and I’m just gonna embrace her fully.”
