The Brits Are Here! Prince William & Kate Touch Down In California

Prince William and Kate have arrived in Los Angeles.

The couple stepped off the plane at 4:08 PM local time.

Kate stepped off the plane in a lavender peridot dress by designer Roksanda Ilincic, while her husband was wearing a dark suit.

After touching down on American soil – Kate’s first time in the USA – the couple was immediately greeted by California notables, including Governor Jerry Brown and his wife Anne, and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

Anne presented Kate with a beautiful bouquet of red, white and blue flowers.

After shaking hands, the royal couple got into a Land Rover, on their way to the Beverly Hills Hotel, where they planned to make an appearance and meet with business and technology leaders.

William and Kate were able to avoid the usual heavy traffic in Los Angeles on Friday thanks to the motorcade that accompanied their vehicle and several streets being shut off.

News choppers followed the royals as they headed to their first appearance, while fans hit the sidewalks to wave at the newlyweds along their route.

The couple – the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, titles the Queen bestowed upon them the day of their wedding – is expected to stay in Hancock Park at the residence of the British consul general.

Tomorrow, the pair will head to Santa Barbara where William will compete in a polo tournament.
