‘The King’s Speech’ Helped Charlie Sheen & Jon Cryer During ‘Two And A Half Men’ Debacle

During the height of the Charlie Sheen’s antics surrounding his departure from “Two and a Half Men,” the actor and former co-star Jon Cryer found common ground with the help of the British Royal Family.

“When all the craziness was going on, I texted him, ‘You’ve got to see ‘The King’s Speech,’” Jon told Maxim’s November issue. “And we had a long text conversation about the performances.”

According to Jon, it was amazing that Charlie was able to focus on the text conversation about the Oscar-winning movie at the time.

“Turns out he was at a porn convention and was texting from underneath a pile of naked porn stars,” he told the mag.

Now that the casting shakeup has settled on his hit CBS sitcom, Jon told the mag he’s very pleased with new co-star Ashton Kutcher.

“It’s great. Ashton is an actor who has no pride or dignity, much like myself. So we’re two of a kind,” the 46-year-old star said.

The Emmy winner also noted that he’s happy to have the casting curveball thrown his way.

“I can’t say I saw all this coming, but every now and then it’s good to have an enormous challenge thrown at you,” Jon said.
