‘The Leftovers’ Renewed For Season 2

“The Leftovers” will continue on HBO.

The network announced on Wednesday that the show was picked up for second season.

“We are thrilled to bring back ‘The Leftovers’ for a second season with the exceptional talents of Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta,” HBO Programming President, Michael Lombardo, said in a statement. “It has been truly exciting to see the overwhelming response to their provocative and original storytelling. We look forward to continuing the journey as the show delves deeper into the lives of those who remain.”

The series, from Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta (who wrote “The Leftovers” book), follows the lives of the residents of Mapleton, three years after 140 million people just vanished.

Justin Theroux plays Garvey family patriarch, Kevin, who serves as the town’s Chief of Police. He’s trying to keep the peace, and what’s left of his family together, while things erupt all around him.
