‘The Monkees’ Davy Jones Dead At 66

Davy Jones, vocalist for The Monkees, has passed away, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

“The District 19 has been notified of the death of Mr. Davy Jones,” the Martin County medical examiner in Florida told Access Hollywood in a statement on Wednesday. “We are currently evaluating whether or not the medical examiner’s office will take jurisdiction.”

While no official cause of death has been released, a rep for Jones told TMZ the singer suffered a heart attack at his Florida home this morning and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Jones, 66, is survived by his wife, Jessica Pacheco, and four daughters.

The England-born singer joined The Monkees in 1965, along with bandmates Michael Nesmith, Peter Tork and Micky Dolenz.

The group is best known for their hits, “I’m a Believer,” “Last Train to Clarksville” and “Daydream Believer.”
