The Stars Come Out For Costume Institute Gala

Jennifer Lopez, Renee Zellwegger, Lindsay Lohan and Scarlett Johansson were among the stars who turned out for the Costume Institute Gala in New York City last night.

Access Hollywood correspondent Tim Vincent found out some stars delivered and some, well, read on to find out.

“Yesterday I found this dress. This is kind of a showpiece dress for Cavalli,” Jessica Simpson explained while showing off her noticeably and newly pert, tanned chest in a Cavalli dress.

Sandra Bullock looked newly svelte in fuchsia Alberta Ferretti.

“We all can choose something that’s right for us but you know they’re still going to rip you to shreds so you gotta not care and embrace the fact that it’s a fashionista night,” Bullock told Tim.

Cameron Diaz, our style star of the day also chose fuchsia, the bright color of the evening.
Jennifer Lopez in Marchesa was a shimmering metallic beauty, reveling in the camera flashes.
Not Kate Moss though. The London based model breezed by and after a quick hello to Cameron Diaz met friend Naomi Campbell inside.
Lindsay Lohan looked luminous in Zac Posen.
Later, Salma Hayek with her fiancé Francois-Henri Pinault proudly showcased her pregnancy in a black empire waist dress.
Naomi Watts also chose black to display her prominent baby bump.

Springy colors also prevailed. Most notably, Ashley Olsen in a sexy gown and Brooke Shields in Oscar de la Renta.

“It fit like a glove,” Brooke told Tim of her dress. “I didn’t have to do any altering and I think that was my main concern and it made me feel like a bride.”

As for the worst at the met? Angie Harmon’s print wrap dress and Rhianna’s gloves.

Mary-Kate Olsen’s feather dress overwhelmed her while Kirsten Dunst’s flapper look flopped.
