‘The Time Traveler’s Wife’ The TV Series?

Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams made crowds weep in the big screen adaptation of the popular novel “The Time Traveler’s Wife,” and the tissue could continue to pile up if the romantic sci-fi drama comes to the small screen.

According to The Wrap.com, ABC, “Friends” creator Marta Kauffman and Warner Bros. Television are planning to bring the time-traveling romance story to TV as a weekly series.

ABC’s interest in working with Kauffman to adapt the novel for TV predates the movie by “years,” according to Hollywood insiders.

The “Friends” creator will reportedly write and executive produce the planned drama, for which ABC has reportedly ordered a pilot.

While a TV version may be on the way, it’s the big screen adaptation that has viewers heading to theaters — the movie made $18.6 million in its opening weekend. There is no word yet if Brad Pitt’s Plan B, which produced the film, or New Line will be involved in the series.
