‘The Unauthorized O.C. Musical’: Cast Promises ‘All The Feels’!

Seth, Summer, Ryan and Marissa belting it out!? A musical based on the “The O.C.” TV series is about to debut and we’re already singing, “Here we come!”

Access Hollywood sat down with the musical creators – Jordan Ross and Lindsey Rosin – and the cast – Greer Grammer (Summer Roberts), Brendan Robinson (Seth Cohen), Molly McCook (Marissa Cooper) and Tilky Jones (Ryan Atwood) – of “The Unauthorized O.C. Musical” to get details on what fans of the beloved series can expect when it leaps from the small screen to the stage.

“All the feels… feels for the whole audience,” co-creator Lindsey said. “You’ll laugh and you’ll cry.”

Jordan and Lindsay, who also gave us “Cruel Intentions: The Musical” earlier this year, explained that bringing the TV series (which starred Adam Brody, Rachel Bilson, Ben McKenzie and Mischa Barton) to the stage was “a no-brainer.”

“‘The O.C.’ was a voice of a generation,” Jordan told Access. “What better show to become a musical than build on all those emotions you felt for years?”

The musical, which debuts this Sunday in Los Angeles for one night only (at least for now!) will go back to beginning.

“We’re doing the pilot, but we’re also doing iconic moments from the series worked into the pilot, so the pilot is the base of our story,” he explained. “It’s a mixture of comedy and drama. Musically, we try to get those iconic moments in there and the Seth Cohen comedy of it. We try and keep that levity up.”

Greer, who is playing Rachel’s Summer character and calls herself a “super fan” of the original series, explained that she has some serious shoes to fill.

“It’s definitely scary a little bit playing Rachel Bilson’s character. She had so many notable moments,” she told Access, explaining that she has one of Summer’s most iconic expressions down.

“I’ve been practicing my ‘Ew!'” she added.

Brendan has been feeling some pressure on social media about playing Seth.

“I didn’t realize the fans of the show take it so seriously, even 12 years since the pilot,” he told Access. “On Twitter, they’ve been encouraging, they’ve been supportive, but also like, ‘If you mess this up, there are going to be serious repercussions!'”

No word if the original cast will be in the audience on Sunday (one can sure hope!), but two very important members of “The O.C.” will be.

“We have heard from both [series creator] Josh Schwartz and [series producer and writer] Stephanie Savage,” Lindsey told Access. “They’re excited and they’ll be at the show… which is really exciting.”
