The Vampire Diaries: Michael Trevino Confirms Originals Crossover

Tyler Lockwood is headed to the French Quarter!

Michael Trevino, who plays the sexy hybrid on “The Vampire Diaries,” has confirmed he will be the first “TVD” cast member to appear on the CW’s New Orleans-set spinoff, “The Originals.”

“[It will be] sometime soon,” the actor told Entertainment Weekly.

Tyler broke up with Caroline (Candice Accola) on this week’s “TVD” after admitting he’s too hell-bent on taking revenge against Klaus (Joseph Morgan) to focus on college, and Michael said filming their split was a challenge for both actors.

”It was actually really tough on both of us,” he said, of shooting his character’s tearful goodbye. “In these scenes where Caroline and Tyler are going their separate ways, it’s usually that one of us is emotional and one isn’t. On this one, both of us were emotional. There were a few more takes than how it regularly goes between Candice and I.”

While many fans were upset over Tyler’s exit, Michael hinted viewers are in for a treat when his character resurfaces on “The Originals.”

“I just want to say everything will be explained, and I think Tyler will make it good once he shows up to ‘The Originals,’” he told EW. “I think everybody will be happy with Tyler’s reasoning when they see what he’s been up to and what he has planned.”
