‘The Voice’ Semi-Finalist Chris Mann Thrilled To See ‘Ave Maria’ On Pop Charts Alongside LMFAO

Thanks to the smooth styling of opera singer Chris Mann on Monday’s “The Voice,” a classical ballad is charting on the Pop Top 20, and the singer – who was chosen to represent coach Christina Aguilera in next week’s final – could not be more thrilled.

“This is like, the best birthday present ever,” Chris – who turns 30 on Saturday – told Access Hollywood following Tuesday’s elimination show. “It’s just very moving to me that, you know, obviously my 20s were dedicated to being here right now. The fact that America has put me through into the top four as an opera singer on a pop show is just completely mind-blowing to me. So thank you!

“This morning I woke up and ‘Ave Maria’ is in the Top 20 on the pop chart right next to ‘I’m Sexy and I Know It’ by LMFAO, which is just weird,” he added. “[I] took a screen grab of that – so, it was amazing.”

Although the night was “amazing” for Chris, it was bittersweet for his coach, who had to say goodbye to the other remaining member of her team — Lindsay Pavao.

“I know that [Christina] really loves both of us… it’s not really like a celebratory night,” he said of watching his teammate get the boot. “As weird as that sounds – it’s bittersweet. Like everyone backstage was just very somber, including me, and plus it’s just a shock. It’s a lot to be put through up there watching numbers — like what does that say? Did I win? I don’t know.”

One celebration that won’t be dampened? Chris’ Cinco de Mayo birthday.

“Cinco de Mann-o [is what] it tends to be [called], so there’s always tequila involved,” he told Access. “It’s going to be good!”

Watch Chris face off against Jermaine Paul, Juliet Simms and Tony Lucca on “The Voice” two-night final, airing Monday at 8/7c, and Tuesday at 9/8c, on NBC.
