The X Factor: Shocking Elimination As Fan Favorite Goes Home

Bad news for fans of Team Simon Cowell on “The X Factor.”

(SPOILER: This story contains the results of Thursday’s “The X Factor” elimination show.)

Simon lost one of his groups from the competition ahead of next week’s finals – the trio known as Emblem3.

“I’m just so honored to have gone through this experience,” Wesley Stromberg from Emblem3 said after he found out the group wouldn’t compete for the top prize. “We’re so grateful. Our fans are so supportive. We love them to death, they’ve been awesome voting for us. I know you guys voted your butts off. It’s all good. We love you and we’re gonna continue doing music.”

While Wes and the boys were able to keep smiles on their faces, Simon, their coach, looked genuinely displeased by the news.

“This is the way it goes on competitions. I’m gutted really, for them, because I thought they had a fantastic night last night, but that’s — it happens,” he shrugged. “I’m very, very disappointed. But you know what, and I really mean this — you are gonna have a huge career off the back of this.”

Going through to next week’s finals will be Fifth Harmony (who are Simon’s remaining act in the Groups category), Tate Stevens (in L.A. Reid’s Over 25s category) and Carly Rose Sonenclar (from Britney Spears’ Teens team).

In related news, judge L.A. gave an exclusive interview to Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson where he revealed he is exiting “The X Factor” judges’ bench at the end of the season.

“I have decided that I will not return to ‘The X Factor’ next year,” he told Shaun in an exclusive interview. “I have to go back and I have a company to run that I’ve kind of neglected and it saddens me a little bit, but only a little bit.”
