Tiger Woods’ Mother-In-Law Rushed To Hospital; Released Tuesday Afternoon

Tiger Woods’ mother-in-law, Barbro Holmberg, was the adult woman who was taken from the home of the golfer early Tuesday morning and transported to Health Central Hospital in Ocoee, Florida, hospital officials confirmed in a press conference on Tuesday morning.

“Last evening, Barbro Holmberg, mother of Elin Woods, was admitted to Health Central Hospital with stomach pain. She’s in stable condition and is currently undegoing evaluations,” Health Central Hospital’s Director of Marketing, Dan Yates, told reporters during a morning press conference. “Media reports other than this, attributed to this matter, have been erroneous and speculative and we ask that her privacy be respected at this time.”

Yates said the statement was made in conjunction with the family’s wishes.

By the afternoon, the hospital had announced that Holmberg had been released and returned to her daughter’s home.

Firefighters removed Barbro from their home following a 911 call at around 2:36 AM local time, NBC’s WESH station in Orlando reported early Tuesday.

According to a log obtained by the station, the woman, who was not named until just after 11 AM local time, initially refused treatment.

The station reported that the woman was later listed as an advanced life support patient.

Footage on the station’s Web site showed a woman being removed from an ambulance at the hospital on a stretcher.

A black Cadillac Escalade left the front entrance of the hospital not long after the ambulance arrived. WESH reported the tags on the vehicle were similar to Woods’ Escalade that he crashed on November 27. The station reported the vehicle may be a loaner from General Motors.

Orlando’s WKMG station reported a blonde woman was spotted driving the vehicle, who CNN reported appeared to look like Tiger’s wife, Elin.

In related news, when reached for comment by Access Hollywood, Eva Malmborg, a rep for Holmberg in Sweden, confirmed the woman left on Monday for a one-week vacation.

Malmborg said they received a call from a close family member in Sweden who informed them Holmberg had been transported to the hospital with stomach pains.

She added that Holmberg did not seem sick or in pain last week, before she left for Florida, but said they do not discuss such things at work.

Malmborg noted Holmberg is expected back in Sweden for work this coming Monday.
