Tina Fey Talks Bristol Palin On ‘Dancing,’ Matt Damon’s ‘30 Rock’ Cameo

Tina Fey may not have had a reason to do her Sarah Palin impression lately, but the “30 Rock” star is still interested in the former vice presidential candidate and her family, including Bristol, who made her debut earlier this week on “Dancing with the Stars.”

“I thought she was a pretty good dancer,” Tina told Access Hollywood in New York City on Thursday. “I thought she did well.”

As for the former “Saturday Night Live” star, her own show, “30 Rock,” premieres tonight on NBC and Tina is welcoming a handsome hunk to the fold – Matt Damon, who is playing her character, Liz Lemon’s boyfriend.

“I knew from ‘Saturday Night Live’ that Matt was funny and had great timing and really understood how to play stuff and so when he expressed interest in being on the show, we were all really excited,” Tina said. “He’s really funny.”

Beyond Matt Damon’s appearances, “30 Rock” has a big season in store, including two live episodes on the same night, set to air later this season.

The cast will roll out an episode at 8:30 for the East Coast showing and switch a few of the jokes up to do it all again during the West Coast time slot.

“I’m not nervous because I’ve done ‘SNL’ for a long time… but I’m very excited,” Tina said.

“We think we can do it, we’ll find out,” she added, laughing.

Season 5 of “30 Rock” kicks off at 8:30 PM on Thursday night on NBC.
