Tom Bergeron: I’ll Stay On Dancing ‘Til They Drag Me’ Off The Set

Tom Bergeron has hosted “Dancing with the Stars” for 15 seasons and the Emmy-winning star says he’s not going anywhere.

“[I’ll host] ‘til they drag me kicking and screaming off the set,” Tom told Kit Hoover and Billy Bush on Wednesday’s Access Hollywood Live. “Look, all shows, someday, come to an end. So, I’m just bankin’ it and having a ball.”

The 57-year-old also admitted that while he’s completely at ease hosting the ABC reality juggernaut, he gets very nervous in normal everyday situations.

“It’s like my wiring is different,” he said. “My wife and I will go to a cocktail party and she’ll make 40 new friends and I’ll be looking at my shoes.

“[But I’m] perfectly fine [on TV],” he continued. “Twenty million people? It’s like I’ve got bedroom slippers on… in real life situations is when [I get nervous].”

Tom said his off-screen anxiety is probably misleading to people who don’t know him.

“People probably think I’m just stuck up. I’m not, I’m just weird!” he said with a laugh.

“Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars” airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on ABC.
