According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tom is in talks to make a cameo in Meg’s directorial debut, “Ithaca,” the film adaption of William Saroyan’s 1943 novel, “The Human Comedy.”

Tom, who is also the film’s executive producer, is reportedly in talks to play Homer’s father alongside Melanie Griffith, Sam Shepard and Meg’s real-life son, Jack Quaid.

“Ithaca” will mark the fourth time Tom and Meg have worked together. First in 1990’s “Joe Versus the Volcano,” then in 1993’s “Sleepless in Seattle” and 1998’s “You’ve Got Mail.”
