‘True Blood’s’ Alexander Skarsgard & Joe Manganiello Line Up New Big Screen Projects

He plays a former Viking on HBO’s “True Blood” and now, Alexander Skarsgard is going to play one on the big screen.

The Swedish actor is set to star in and co-produce “The Vanguard,” for Warner Bros., which New York Magazine’s Vulture blog reported is a “Viking epic.”

According to the column, which first reported the news, the drama centers around two Viking brothers in America trying to get back to Sweden.

In related “True Blood” news, werewolf Alcide, AKA Joe Manganiello is also heading to the big screen.

Access Hollywood has confirmed that the hunky star has signed on for “What to Expect When You’re Expecting.”

According to Entertainment Weekly, which first reported the casting, Joe will play a surfing photographer and ladies man named Davis.

Both Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz are also part of the film, which takes inspiration from the best-selling pregnancy guide.
